Sisa and Furbabies
✨Brightest stars in the darkest times. ✨
This story is about my Sisa and all furbabies in the world.
She came unplanned. Not as a solution, not as a decision, but as a presence that arrived when life was at its most chaotic.
She does not know about roles, titles, or expectations. She does not care whether a day was productive or coherent. What she understands is presence. Her gaze is a mirror. She reflects me as I am, not as I perform myself to be.
She chose me when things were falling apart. And without instruction, she became many things at once. My teacher in slowing down. My reminder to trust again. My rock on days when steadiness felt out of reach. At times, even my child, asking for care and protection when I had almost forgotten how to offer it.
Walking together, resting together, stopping when it is time to stop. With her, care is not something to be articulated. It is practiced. Everyday. Repeatedly. Without commentary.
In moments of transition, uncertainty, or fatigue, Sisa has been a quiet lesson in belonging. That connection does not require explanation. That being present is sometimes enough.
For many people, the meaning of a pet is difficult to translate. From the outside, it can look excessive, sentimental, or misplaced. But those who have lived it know this truth. They know how companionship can anchor you when words fail, how routine can restore stability, and how being needed can quietly bring you back to yourself.
If the brightest stars are those that make us close to the ordinary, then companionship like this matters more than we often admit.
Not everything that sustains us needs to speak.
Some simply walk alongside us.
